How to Find Your Projects, Screeners, Approvals, and Uploads
Use this guide if you are signed in to ScreenKey and are not sure where to go next.
You might be trying to:
- Watch a screener someone sent you
- Review or approve images
- Upload files to a Project
- Find a Project you manage
- Switch between companies, productions, or teams
- Find an invitation you have not accepted yet
If your goal is, “I’m in ScreenKey, but I’m not sure where my work is,” you are in the right place.
ScreenKey is a secure platform for reviewing, approving, uploading, organizing, and sharing film and television content. The dashboard helps route you to the right place depending on what you are trying to do.
The main areas of the dashboard
ScreenKey has a few main areas you will use often:
| Area | Use it when you want to |
|---|---|
| My Projects | Create, manage, upload to, or organize Projects |
| For Review | Watch, review, approve, or return to content shared with you |
| Organization Menu | Switch between Organizations or manage Organization settings |
| User Menu | Manage your personal account, notifications, help, and sign-out options |
The options you see may depend on your access, permissions, and which Organizations or Projects you belong to.
My Projects
Use My Projects when you are managing a Project or uploading media to one.
A Project is the main workspace in ScreenKey where media is uploaded, organized, reviewed, approved, and shared. Projects can contain media, permissions, Galleries, review workflows, analytics, and sharing settings.
You may use My Projects if you need to:
- Create a new Project
- Open a Project you manage
- Upload media
- Organize files into folders
- Edit Project details
- Share content with viewers
- Give upload access to collaborators
- Create or manage Screening Rooms
- Access a Project where you were invited to upload media
A simple way to think about it:
If you are creating, managing, organizing, or uploading content, start in My Projects.
Finding upload access in My Projects
If someone invited you to upload media to a Project, that Project should appear in My Projects after you accept the invitation and sign in.
Upload access always requires sign-in. There are no Share Links for upload access.
Use the same email address where you received the upload invitation. If you sign in with a different email address, ScreenKey may not recognize that you have access.
Depending on your permissions, you may be able to upload to the whole Project or only to specific folders. You may only see the files you uploaded, unless the Project Team also gave you separate viewing or review access.
The Screening Rooms area in My Projects
At the top of My Projects, you may see a Screening Rooms area.
A Screening Room is a curated viewing experience. It can include selected media from multiple Projects and present that content in one shared viewing space.
You might use a Screening Room to create or manage:
- A buyer package
- A sales catalogue
- An awards package
- A curated collection of titles
- A group of screeners from multiple Projects
Use the Screening Rooms area when you need to create, edit, organize, or share a curated viewing experience.
The Project Grid
The Project Grid shows Projects available in your active Organization.
Each Project appears as a card. Select a Project card to open it.
From the Project Grid, you may be able to:
- Open a Project
- Create a new Project
- Search for Projects
- Filter Projects
- Sort Projects
- Access Project actions from the Project card menu
If you expected to see a Project and it is missing, check that you are in the correct Organization and signed in with the correct email address.
For Review
Use For Review when someone shared content with you to watch, review, approve, comment on, or return to later.
This is where you find ScreenKey content that was shared with you by someone else.
You may use For Review if you need to:
- Watch a screener
- Open a Project shared with you
- Open a Screening Room shared with you
- Review media
- Approve or reject images
- Leave feedback
- Download files, if downloads are enabled
- Mark a Project as complete
- Request access to expired content
- Claim a new invitation
A simple way to think about it:
If someone sent you content to watch, review, or approve, start in For Review.
Alerts in For Review
At the top of For Review, you may see an Alerts area.
Alerts can show important notices about your review access, including invitations you have not accepted yet.
If you see an unclaimed invitation, select the alert to claim access and open the shared Project or Screening Room.
My Screening Rooms in For Review
The My Screening Rooms area shows Screening Rooms that have been shared with you.
A Screening Room may include content from more than one Project. This lets you browse a curated set of titles, screeners, or media packages without opening each Project separately.
Use My Screening Rooms to:
- Open Screening Rooms shared with you
- Browse curated content
- Access multiple Projects or titles from one viewing experience
- Review a package prepared for you
Projects For Review
The Projects For Review area shows individual Projects that have been shared with you.
Projects may be grouped by status so you can quickly tell what needs attention.
Common statuses include:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Needs Review | The Project is available and waiting for you to review it |
| Completed | You marked the Project as complete |
| Expired | Your viewing window has ended |
| Upcoming | The Project is not available yet |
If a Project has expired, it may still appear in For Review so you can request access again.
Organization Menu
Use the Organization Menu when you need to switch between Organizations or manage Organization-level settings.
An Organization is the administrative workspace that owns Projects and manages Team Members, permissions, settings, and billing. A user may belong to multiple Organizations, and each Organization can have its own Projects, users, settings, and permissions.
Use the Organization Menu to:
- View Organizations you belong to
- Switch between Organizations
- Create a new Organization, if allowed
- Access Organization management tools
- Manage Team Members, if you have permission
- Manage Organization-level settings, if you have permission
This matters because Projects belong to Organizations, not just to individual users. If you are looking for a Project you manage and cannot find it, you may be in the wrong Organization.
User Menu
Use the User Menu to manage your own ScreenKey account.
This is different from the Organization Menu. The Organization Menu controls the workspace you are working in. The User Menu controls your personal account experience.
Use the User Menu to:
- Manage your profile
- Update account settings
- Access notifications
- Find help resources
- Sign out of ScreenKey
Depending on your permissions, you may also see additional administrative options.
My Projects vs. For Review
The most important dashboard distinction is between My Projects and For Review.
| Dashboard area | Start here when you need to |
|---|---|
| My Projects | Create, manage, organize, share, or upload media to Projects |
| For Review | Watch, review, approve, comment on, download, or return to content shared with you |
If you are managing content for your team, start in My Projects.
If someone shared content with you to watch or review, start in For Review.
If someone invited you to upload media, sign in and look in My Projects.
Common examples
“Someone sent me a screener link.”
Open the link first. After you have access, you can usually find the screener again in For Review.
“I need to approve or reject images.”
Go to For Review and look for the approvals Project or Gallery that was shared with you.
“I need to upload files.”
Go to My Projects. Upload access requires sign-in, and the Project should appear there after you accept the invitation.
“I created a Project but cannot find it.”
Check the Organization Menu. You may be viewing a different Organization than the one where the Project was created.
“I work with more than one company or production.”
Use the Organization Menu to switch between Organizations. Then check My Projects or For Review, depending on what you need to do.
“I have an invitation but do not see the Project.”
Check For Review for alerts if it is review access. Check My Projects if it is upload access. Also make sure you are signed in with the same email address where the invitation was sent.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot find what you are looking for, check these common issues.
Are you signed in with the correct email address?
Invitations are often tied to the email address where they were sent.
Are you in the correct Organization?
If you manage Projects across more than one Organization, switch Organizations from the Organization Menu.
Are you looking in the right dashboard area?
Use My Projects for Projects you manage or upload to. Use For Review for content shared with you to watch, review, or approve.
Have you accepted the invitation?
Some invitations need to be claimed before the Project or Screening Room appears.
Has your access expired?
Expired Projects may still appear in For Review, where you may be able to request renewed access.
Has your access changed?
The Project Team may have changed permissions, disabled a link, removed access, or adjusted the viewing window.
Are you looking for upload access through a Share Link?
Upload access does not use Share Links. You must sign in with the invited email address.
If you still cannot find the Project, Screening Room, approval, or upload area you need, contact the person or team who invited you.
