Share and Manage Upload Access
Use Upload Access to invite a user to submit media directly to a ScreenKey Project without becoming a Team Member of your Organization.
It is useful for collaborators and third-party vendors such as photographers, post-production partners and publicity teams.
Understand Upload Access
Upload Access allows a user to add media according to the Access Type and folder permissions you assign.
By default, Uploaders may only see the media they uploaded and the files or folders they were granted permission to access.
Upload Access does not automatically allow Uploaders to watch, review or download other Project media. If they also need to review content, they must receive separate Reviewer access through Secure Sharing.
Create Upload Access
- Open the Project.
- Navigate to Sharing.
- Select Upload Access.
- Enter the Uploader’s email address.
- Select Create Upload Access.
- Choose the appropriate Upload Access Type.
- Limit access to specific folders, if needed.
- Review the permissions and send the invitation.
Grant only the access required for the Uploader to complete their work. Clearly identify the destination folder and provide any required file-naming instructions.
What the Uploader Receives
The Uploader receives an email invitation and must sign in or create a ScreenKey account using the same email address that received it.
Once the invitation is accepted, the Project appears in Admin.
See Uploading as an Invited Uploader for recipient instructions.
Manage Upload Access
Unlike Reviewer access, Upload Access is not limited by an access window. It remains active until a Team Member changes or revokes it.
To update or remove access:
- Open the Project’s Upload Access settings.
- Locate the Uploader
- Update their Access Type or folder permissions, or revoke their access.
- Save your changes.
Revoking Upload Access prevents future uploads but does not remove media the Uploader previously submitted.
Troubleshoot Uploader Access
If a Uploader cannot find the Project, confirm that they:
- Accepted the invitation using the same email address that received it
- Are looking in Admin, not Review
- Still have active Upload Access
If they cannot upload to a folder, confirm that the folder is included in their permissions and that their assigned Access Type supports the required action.
